Support to develop an Innovate UK Local Action Plan

The North East Mayoral Combined Authority needed to develop a place-based innovation plan, co-created with Innovate UK, to target support for the region's innovation strengths and align funding to local priorities. PolicyDepartment supported the authority through the plan's development up to the drafting stage: engaging stakeholders across local authorities, universities, Catapults and business, consolidating a fragmented evidence base, mapping innovation funding flows, analysing the level and distribution of innovation investment, and helping set the strategic priorities that shaped the plan.
