An innovation prospectus and pre-strategy assessment

The North of Tyne Combined Authority (now the North East Mayoral Combined Authority) wanted to take an enhanced leadership role in the region's innovation ecosystem and to position the region for UK Government funding. PolicyDepartment reviewed the innovation baseline and comparators, refreshed the strengths and risks picture, worked through the direction of travel with stakeholders, and prepared a short, externally facing innovation narrative for engagement with government, drawing on partner conversations, thematic workshops and an investor roundtable. We delivered a concise pre-strategy prospectus with recommendations that set up the region's later Investment Zone and innovation planning.
