A green skills demand and provision study for the Tay Cities Region

Skills Development Scotland wanted to strengthen skills provision for clean growth across the Tay Cities Region: identifying green-economy opportunities with credible near-term demand and matching them to training provision. Supporting prime contractor My Local Economy, PolicyDepartment contributed to analysis of green labour demand using employment projections and vacancy data, an audit of the active green business base, engaged employer groups, and mapped current education and training provision against demand at occupation level for areas including offshore wind, marine engineering and retrofit of buildings. The study gave SDS a practical, demand-led basis for provision planning.
